The Moose Roadmap

Here is an overview of the upcoming changes and enhancements to the Moose XML framework for Java.

Features Coming in Moose 0.5.0:

These features have already been selected to be included in the 0.5.0 release of Moose.

Documentation Improvements:

I have to struggle along at producing documentation. I plan on continuing to refine and extend the developer guide. It will become a full-fledged introduction and reference manual.

Public Issue Tracker:

Defects for the Moose project are currently managed on a private issue tracker. During the 0.5.0 timeframe, I'll move Moose's issue management to a public instance.

Smarter Annotation Behavior:

Rather than having to specify the "name" parameter for every annotation, the annotations will have access to name translation strategies, and will automatically pick a name using the configured strategy instance.

Features Coming in a Later Version:

These features have not been scheduled for a release.

XSD/WSDL to Mapping Domain:

A future version of Moose will include a tool which can process an XSD or a WSDL, and produce a mapping domain from it. This will be useful for integrations where an existing XSD or WSDL exists.

How to Request a Feature:

If there is a feature that you'd like to see in Moose, please feel free to contact me. Once the issue tracker has moved to the public instance, you'll be able to participate in the development process that way.
